well I don't mean permanently but just going into my boss and saying 'I can't deal with this shit today, I'm going home, see ya tomorrow if I don't have a nervous breakdown between now and then'

Yup I am like that at the moment, they just keep giving me more and more work. I have got to the point where I am thinkink fuck it, I am not going to rush when my Data entry Clerk is of at another depot helping someone else. I will take my time and give myself plenty of breaks.

well that's what I'm generally like, I'm usually able to say 'fuck it' but it was already getting bad with people giving me ridiculous, yet time consuming, stuff to do... but someone just came in with something from the boss that will take HOURS and I just said 'is he fucking SERIOUS?' and went out for a cigarette... but I don't even know where to start cos he's so fussy and keeps REprioritising... telling me to do nothing for anybody else but then comes in and says 'xxx told me he asked you to do this and you can't do it' and I said 'yeh, cos you told me to put your work first' and then he'll come out with a big sob story with why it needs to be done now... and I'm like 'well what about all these things that need to be done YESTERDAY? :eek: I just can't work like this... it's fucking ridiculous.

thanks... I'm trying... think I'm close to some kinda anxiety attack... there's a lot of other stuff going on and I don't need him to have one of his fussy days right now. Normally I can deal with it and inwardly laugh at his what can only be described as OCD but now I wish he'd just fuck off with his petty little issues.

....Fake an illness and go home. Two fingers in the back of your mouth and you'll soon be sent home. Just don't do it near where you work because the smell doesn't shift quickly!! Aaaahhhhh many a day i got off from school with that trick.

tell your boss you need to go for a short walk otherwise youre gonna explode. tell him you need to clear your head and decompress. and then just walk out the door. tell him this is the best way you can deal with what is overwhelming you and that a break will be good for the company or whoever the hell it is you work for. but be back in half an hour and bring me a green tea will you love? oh and a cookie. thanks.

urgh, I couldn't make myself sick. Nope if I go home, he'll know that it's because nobody can work like this... no point covering up the problem! He does know what he's like cos he apologises frequently and says 'I know I'm a fussy bastard but that's just how I am' he drives everyone else nuts too and people have told him several times. He's a lovely lovely man BUT when he's having a bad day or is getting shit from above, he will make everyone's life hell.

When I get days like this and the people around me are being complete twats, I try to find a quiet place by myself and just count to ten, breathe and remind myself that i'm not a brain surgeon and if the work's not done or not done right no-one's gonna die...(if you are a surgeon better ignore this advice )

Anyway hope your day gets better

thank you It did. I've eaten into a good chunk of it now... well some... cos I did the little messy bits so it doesn't look like there's so much to do... as for that HUGE job well I'm presuming that it's not urgent since my boss didn't hand it to me himself, so until he mentions something, it's just gonna have to wait til tomorrow or Friday
