Have to go with the 1988 Orioles. Any team that starts the year out 0-21 is destined for to be remembered as one of the worst teams in history.

I'd agree with that. The 1997 Cubs were 0-14 also. My idea for the thread was more based on teams that you saw from where you lived and so on.

The 1997 Phillies. Other than Curt Schilling, how anyone else from that pitching staff made the majors is beyond me.

Of course, Tito and Schilling had a little foreshadowing of the future that year when Schilling struck out 16 Yanks on Labor Day at the Vet. I still remember going to that game and rubbing it in the 5 Yankee fans faces that went with me. Little did I know 4 and 7 years later, Schilling would be making Yankee fans miserable again. ;)

  • 1988 Baltimore Orioles.

    1st game-Lost 12-0 to the Brewers.
Started the season 0-21. Worst in MLB history.(I was witness to over 10 of those losses)
Cal Sr. was fired 6 games into the season... Replaced by Frank Robinson(who lost 15 more)
Won their first game on April 29th of that year.
Fiished the season 54-107. 34 games behind the Red Sox.

This was the one of the hardest things to endure as a sohp. in high school... Still a fan to this day!!! Go O's!!!

that team was 30-72 and finished 38-22. somehow mike grace fired a three-hitter. of course the yankees didn't exactly trot out their a-team on the mound for that series as they started kenny rogers, hideki irabu and doc gooden.

True, but it was pretty sweet seeing Captain Jeetz, Tino and O'Neill go 0/12 with 10 ks.

BINGO that's it, with those 3 guys in the morning on 98 Rock. It was a promo for the station and they would interview the guy or something like that. I thought the guy was a fool to be doing such a thing for so long.
