Wow. MLB Teams make way too much money.
    1/12/1879, 4/8/1156, 2/6/1977, who gives a shit, ...
  • Didn't they just give Gary Matthews Jr a huge contract last year to play CF? Obviously Hunter is WAY more of a proven commodity, but its still funny to spend that much money on 1 position.

Don't you hate it when a big spending team overpays for a position player, and then does the same next year for the same position.
    1998 ~ Barrie
    2003 ~ Toronto
    2005 ~ London, Toronto
    2006 ~ Toronto
    2008 ~ Hartford, Mansfied I,
    2009 ~ Toronto, Chicago I, Chicago II
    2010 ~ Cleveland, Buffalo
2011 ~ Toronto I, Toronto II, Ottawa, Hamilton
    2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
    2014 - Detroit
    2019 - Chicago X 2

Actually from what I read, that is exactly what they are going to do. Would have liked to see Rowand in Cubbie blue but not a chance of that heppening

Matthews Jr. will be moved to either left or right field which is what needs to happen. Anderson can't stay healthy, and Vlad is a liability in the outfield these days, and his legs could use more DH days.

This makes Willits a bit more expendable as well to be traded after a proven first year so they can pick up an infielder among the lines of Cabrera.

With the pickup of Garland as well, they've got a nice young trade package of Willits, Kendrick and Saunders. A proven pitcher, proven infielder and proven outfielder. They'll be giving up a lot for a big bat, but they also don't have room to use those guys full time. Plus they've got a deep farm system where it won't hurt to give up a couple guys. Wood is on his way up to play shortstop, possibly this year after the trade of Cabrera. So it looks like they're going to be doing some shifting around.

It's about time they got rid of Stoneman from the GM role and moved him elsewhere, he wouldn't do anything for the Angels.
