I am in the process of throwing a bit of dough at some charities.

Anyone have suggestions for LEGIT charities?

Please...no beer funds, weed funds, paying-off your student loan/credit card funds or Pearl Jam tour funds!

America's Second Harvest is one that I like. They have a program where kids who don't get enough food are given backpacks on Fridays at school. The backpacks have food to help the kids get through the weekend which is the time when they normally don't get enough to eat.
