My Dad would give me sips and I'd vow I'd never drink it. But imagine that at age 22, not only have I tolerated drinking beer in college, but now have actually grown to enjoy and crave the taste of beer. I have even become kind of a beer snob now when it comes to the stuff. Weird how your taste buds change over the years (put coffee under that category for me too).

I'm definitely like that with coffee since I started college. At first I didn't like anything.... then I started liking sweet espresso drinks.... then less sweet espresso drinks.... then half milk/half coffee drinks... and now I'm addicted to straight coffee with lots of half and half.

    But damn is it good.

yea, it happened with me also.

i used to be of the firm belief that all beer tasted the same...

granted, i only 'sipped' on coors, bud, pabst, etc as a 6 yr old...

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
  • same here. I hated the taste of beer in high school. I would drink wine coolers, or mix beer with Mountain Dew or something. Turn out, I just didn't (and still don't) like crappy beer, like Bud. Now I drink sam Adams and pete's Wicked

I hated beer at the beginning of high school but then realized I liked it after getting sick off of MD 20/20 and throwing up instantly after taking a shot of vodka.

LOL...good old MD 20/20. To this day I cannot stand the taste/smell of wine because of one bad experience with that shit. Sadly enough people tell me its not even wine. Boy did you bring back some memories talking about that stuff. UGH!

when i first tried Guinness i was about 18 or 19 and i hated it... it tasted like a septic gypsy... now i love it, without doubt my drink of choice..

by the time we're 80 our taste buds must be so screwed that we could probably eat or drink anything... if only we have our own teeth and can hold in our own urine that is.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Mixed beer w/ Mountain Dew? And that made the beer taste better? I think I'm about to hurl.

I too did not like the taste of beer at first but I trudged past that and can say I'm a full blown alcoholic (in a good way ;)) now.

i drank beer as a young child and didn't like it.

then in high school, after drinking too many 2 litre bottles of California Cooler Grape, i switched back to beer and never looked back.
I love to turn you on
  • I didnt care much for beer as a child either, but I would always steal sips from my dad's Jack and Cokes whenever he would leave one unattended. I always assumed that he must have smelled it on my breath, and wondered why I never got in trouble.

Perhaps he was just ammused by his little girl taking bird- like sips of his Jack? Or maybe he never knew. I think I shall ask him today.
