HAHA! Actually a cab to JFK is only $45. But after missing a flight a couple of years ago due to crazy traffic it's all about the subway for me. Plus I'll refuse just because of those damn annoying commercials. "Sometimes, he just takes me home." Really?!? .

OMG yeah that is crazy. I leave like 2 hrs early!

    What commercial is that Mookie?!

The four ladies who act like they're in Sex and the City talking about the car service. The 777-7777 or 666-6666 I forget. But they talk about the car like it's a human. "Sometimes he takes me shopping" "Well sometimes he takes me to the theatre" "Really, sometimes he takes me to have my upper lip waxed" etc. etc. Annoying as hell! :D
    "The leads are weak!"

"The leads are weak? Fuckin' leads are weak? You're Weak! I've Been in this business 15 years"

    "What's your name?"

    "FUCK YOU! THAT"S MY NAME!"

    I've never seen that!
they do not talk about lip waxing, do they?!
Wow. I've seen the 777 one but it's just talking about taking you from the airport to your destination.

I may have embellished on the lip waxing part (but the rest is spot on). I wish they had said that as it would have at least kept my interest. :D

actually, I was going to post this earlier. isn't it like a UNIVERSAL public transport rule that you let people OUT first before trying to enter the car? I mean I cannot understand people who don't get this...I was just almost bowled over by entire family trying to get off the T...
it's strange cos in Dublin, this works quite well in buses and trains... but when it comes to the luas (our tram system) the door opens and people just flood in while you're trying to get out and you really have to push your way through them  I don't get it.
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you
  • The PT in my town is supposedly very good. I never take it as it seems very inconvenient to me. I don't live far from downtown (10 min drive) and it would take me about 45min to an hour to get downtown on PT.

It's a shame the buses and DARTS are shite and never run on time.

I've experienced a fair few different public transport systems and I can safely say Berlin is the best in Europe. Although, I'm told that if I go to Japan, their's is the best in the world.

The Chicago L was handy - we took it from the airport right to downtown just blocks from our hotel. $2 a person. You can't beat that.

I've taken the bus in Milwaukee and that was pretty convenient too - the regular city bus gets you right to the airport. I do not like to spend when I don't have to.

I always take my daughter with me to shows, and since we live in a small town, she is getting a good education on how to navigate cities and figure out public transp. (She's 13 and I think at this point she could totally handle the NY subway, as we've been on it many times). I like the PATH train too - you can stay in Jersey and cross over into the city, then pick up the subway to wherever.

Las Vegas - buses that no one rides except for the Strip tourist route.

Nothing else other than a monorail which will give you a view of the backs of some hotels. That is, unless parts are falling off again (I'll have to check their website). Like LA, public trans is an oxymoron in this "one person-one SUV" town.
