Well, I figured it was about time this thread got going after a hiatus from a disappointing end to last season.

But lets kick off this thread with some happy news, today the Mets signed K-Rod to a three year deal worth $37 million dollars!

Obviously there is quite a bit more Omar needs to do this offseason, but at least the closer situation is out of the way.

Yankee fan here...K-Rod signing was a legit move for the Mets

    You should be happy
  • The K-Rod singing is great on many levels. He's the best closer on the market and the mets are going to end up paying him half of what the original price was rumored to be. Omar has a history of landing the big name guys (i.e. Pedro, Beltran, Wagner, Santana etc...) so good work here.

I'm happy that the closer situation is out of the way, and that we got someone who should be good.

There is still much left to be done though. We need at least one more pitcher, hopefully a #2 or #3 like Sheets or Lowe.

We also have to figure out what our outfield will look like, what our bullpen will look like (some of those guys need to be gone -Heilman, Schow - and we need some new faces, hopefully Street).

Also hopefully Omar can swing a deal ridding us of Castillo so we can pick up Hudson.
