disclaimer: I understand US Cellular Field is probably a lamer name than Target Field, but that's why we all still call it Comiskey Park.
Minneapolis is a cool city and a worthy ballpark is long overdue. Implode that dome and build an outdoor facility so the Vikings can take advantage of the cold climate in November/December.

Many citizens wanted a new ballpark and wanted the Twins to stay in Minnesota in a REAL ballpark. I agree that Uncle Carl Pohlad could have paid for it himself, but how many stadiums have NOT been funded with some taxpayer money? Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T Park is the only one I can think of right now.

The nice thing about the deal with the Twins was that the State of MN has the first option to buy the Twins if the Pohlad family wants to sell them. The Pohlads have also put a lot of extra amentities into the stadium with their own money, to the tune of at least $22 million. People weren't happy with how the deal was done with Hennepin County, but at least it's done and we can move on.
Haha...since when do we ever hit any home runs?
There was a study done by the University of Minnesota that disproves the "air vent advantage" as well, by the way.
September shouldn't be bad...but I definitely have memories of snowy weather in April.

"Uh, all of them. They're having a party. Jimmy Carter's passed out on the couch."

Classy.
It's 67 right now during the game and it's going to be 72 tomorrow.
Isn't it kind of cold in Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, and New York in April and September too sometimes? Somehow these teams have managed to play games outdoors for the past...uh...century? I say thanks, but no thanks to that roof.
Love the comment...Thank Goodness its not...as a resident of Minneapolis I may not have been able to set foot on the field.

Because baseball is meant to be played outside. We're hearty folk in the midwest, we'll bundle up and survive just fine.

Also it is a locally based company (us operations at least) for the area. That helps too. Tech names are bad (A.- they seem to change more, B.- they just dont flow right).
Would I prefer the ballpark here be called Tiger Park or The NEW Tiger Stadium? Perhaps, but as far as corporate names go "Comerica Park" flows okay, and was a local company
