I just got mine and it was awesome to read Katie's letter. I was wondering who she was that night. And I thought someone explained who Ryan (or Brian... whatever) was on this board right after the show.
I'm trying to find a way to get in touch with her. My 9 year old son has the same Heart Defect and has endured the 3 open heart surgeries (all before the age of 2) as well as numerous catheterizations and hospitalizations!! I would love to meet this young lady. I have read her story in DEEP over and over and just can't get enough of the smile on her face in those pictures! CHEERS TO KATIE!!
a little side note: when my son was having his 3rd open heart surgery I was urged to contact MAKE-A-WISH because of his diagnosis (HYPO PLASTIC LEFT HEART SYNDROME) to grant a wish for him. I never did it..........I had this weird feeling that if I did that I would be admitting defeat in my son's illness and somehow, that would make his open heart surgeries a failure.
Seeing Katie get this WISH Granted to her has given me an amazing feeling and I'm so glad she got her wish, an awesome wish it was and Kudos to PEARL JAM for giving it to her
