I knew a lot of musicians lived in Denton at one time (Don Henley, Meat Loaf, Bowling For Soup, Norah Jones and Tim Delaughter of Tripping Daisy and Polyphonic Spree) because they went to the University Of North Texas (as did Peter Weller a non-musician) but I didn't know that Sly Stone was born there.
I also did not know that Ryan High School is named after Billy Ryan, some local guy apparently who was starting QB for Notre Dame in the early 1900's.
