www.boston.com for some alternative views of the "fan base."

We shouldn't paint an entire fan base with the same brush....but to say there were only a couple of fans tweeting racist BS is a little off the mark.

Admittedly a lot of tweets were in defence of Subban, but not all were.
I agree. I'm a habs fan, so obviously, I'm defending him, but even if I wasn't, I wouldn't do something as stupid as what those Bruins "fans" did. Those "fans" did the same thing to Joel Ward two years ago so I expected the same to happen to PK (I wish it didn't happen). Racism has no place anywhere whatsoever.

17000 tweets with no way of knowing how many were from so called bruins "fans." For me, they're not bruins fans or even hockey fans. They're racists.

Totally agree. And as a bruins fan, I totally loved last nights game and Subban is a beast that is fun to watch. Again, for me, those "fans" aren't fans. They're racists. Racism has no place in any aspect of our society but unfortunately it exists at all levels. I think and I hope you'll see some class at Saturday's game and may the better team win.

Our national news station did a segment on those 17000 tweets and many of those tweets were in support of PK ...

    Gold old racist Boston.

You appear to come across as if this kind of fan reaction is exclusive to the city of Boston, give me a break. So I gather your city of NY does NOT also have this kind of fringe fan reaction and comments. Wake up you also have them too, I know I lived in Brooklyn in the 70's played hockey and heard the same comments.

This is unfortunately a part of Boston sports history as far as race relations. Not ALL Boston fans are like that, I myself have faced some of these racist comments when I lived and played hockey there. This is the part of Boston sports i cant stand and as the years go by these racist people and their comments never seem to learn a better way to express sportsmanship or have those comments come to an end.

That was the very same reaction when a black player for the Capitals won a game and series against the Bruins a couple years ago I believe. I was not surprised it still continues today. The odd thing is The Boston Bruins were the very first team to have a black player play in the NHL....Willie O'Ree. I believe the Celtics also had the first black player also but some of these racist fans can't seem to change.

I guarantee you one thing if Subban played for the Bruins they would be behind him 100% the guy can play. I can't stand the Canadiens or the Yankees but I would never denigrate their fans in any way. It's just sports and the teams one happens to root for leave it at that.

    Peace

  • Disappointed that Montreal lost, but that's what happens when Montreal doesn't show up in the last 10 minutes of the game and Boston not giving up and are able to score. Just got to move on and hope Montreal win Game 3.

Bruins were soundly beaten. Hoping for a better outcome in game 4. Nice to see an enthusiastic crowd into the game as well. at least I didn't have to stay up into the wee hours waiting for a final score.

I glad to see the Bruins make a comeback which should boost there confidence for the next game. They must keep Subban in check to have a serious chance to win the next one. Oh and get a quick start and score.

You maybe right, the Bruins just can't connect tonight. The Habs might just have the advantage in Boston.

The turnover that led to the first goal was brutal but the entire team looked flat all night. Sometimes you can get a lucky bounce here and there to help play through that, but nothing went their way last night. Pucks in the crease, pucks on the goal line, pucks off the post...nothing.

Hope it is a different story in Boston.

Something similar between our teams is that you don't know who's going to show up per game...the good team or the awful team.
You guys had some bad bounces both defensively and offensively throughout the night last night (not that I'm complaining) and looked flat at times, but at other times you looked really good (2 minutes in the offensive zone was brutal). I think Chara is injured, or sick.
