I bought a small SUV crossover in December. I bought a Suzuki SX4. I traded in my PT Cruiser. I love this vehicle. It get between 28 and 33 mpg on the highway depending on how you drive. The mechanical build is excellent. 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Free roadside assistance. It is very comfortable. What else you want to know?

Don't buy new. Pre-owned. 2 Years old minimum.

I just bough an SUV cross over on Memorial Day. Its a Nissan Rogue in "Wicked Black". Its SO awesome. It gets good gas mileage so far. I've only given it gas once. Its extremely easy to drive and the inside is very sleek.

I got a saturn Vue XR which is really really nice. I am very impressed with it. However, the gas mileage is not good (18 mpg). However, you could buy the 4 cylinder version which will get better gas mileage or you could get the 2 mode hybrid.

    Good luck!

Curious to know what you currently drive?

I am a road rep for a shoe company -- most of my friends are reps too. The New Balance guy just bought a new Highlander hybrid and likes it a lot...he used to drive nothing but 4Runners before that.

I drive a 4Runner and want to get it to 200k miles since I drive so much for work -- the car is my office! I cannot complain, I like the ride (it's my third one since '99). It's an 8 and since I am mostly doing highway, I get high 19's. Most of this year I've stayed in the right lane and drove the speed limit...the biggest difference any driver can make besides not driving.

    What about the Tiguan? MDX?

The Tiguan is an awesome car. Beautiful inside and out. I recommend it, if you're willing to plunk down a pretty penny. I think its slightly over priced, and from my experience when I sat down and seriously talked to them, since they are so new, they are not willing to budge much on the price. Tiguan is a sweet ride though, very smooth, and the features are sweet. Hard to not get it fully loaded though, once you see them.
