I've been to Boston like 5 times, and my favorite oyster bar is Neptune Oyster on the North End. Seriously, so good. Great oysters and chowder, and their lobster rolls are awesome.

You have to tour Fenway if you are a baseball fan, which I know you are.

It's touristy, but Union Oyster House is kind of cool too. Oldest restaurant in the country and all that.

Ok, so I'm heading out to Boston on Saturday for a week to see my cousin that's been wanting me to come there forever. Never been there, or even the East Coast for that matter. But anyway, its finally gonna happen. She actually lives on the Cape so will be there too. Figured Id try and get some suggestions as to things, places, bars, etc that I should definitely try and see/go to, while I'm there. Hittin' up a Red Sox game one day, but what else? Figure you guys would have plenty of ideas, so any and all would be mucho appreciated....

If you're spending a week on/near the Cape, you might want to take a spin to Newport, RI as well. Great bars, great seafood, nice shops.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

I just did this a couple months ago. It takes about 40 minutes to drive there, if I recall correctly. Pretty close.

It all depends on where on the Cape that you're staying. From the Cape Code Canal you're looking at between 45 minutes to an hour. It's about the same travel time to Boston. Though, if you're going to Boston you'll most likely be taking Route 3 and that can be a BIG bitch depending on traffic. I-195 going West twards Providence will not be as bad.

well my cousin and/or her friends out there will be doing the driving, so probably know the best routes depending on what time we're doin' whatever we're doing. hopefully :D She actually lives in Sandwich though. Thanks for all the info..... This is a huge help. The more the better....!

Uh.. sorry. It takes about 40 minutes to get from Boston to the end of the expressway by car at certain times. Getting on route 3 can add at least another 2 hours to get to the Cape.
Honestly, it is not unusual for the Boston to Cape traffic to take about 3-4 hours in peak season. DONT DO IT.

The best way is to take the high speed ferry from Boston to Provincetown.

Sandwich is pretty close to the Canal so whatever you want to do, whether is Boston or Newport, shouldn't be a problem.

Even the Islands (Vineyard and Nantucket) are cool.

yeah she said we were gonna go to, what is it, Martha's Vineyard? Cant wait for this trip. The more people I talk to that have been, they all say how much fun the whole area is out there.
