best seasonal beer you can buy. i suggest you pick up a 6 pack and check it out for yourself.

make it either saranac or dogfish head. you will love it, i guarantee it.

If you are talking about Blue Moon Harvest Ale, that is the most disgusting beer I have ever had (if drinking half a beer and dumping the other half counts as having a beer).

And I LOVE Blue Moon (and similar beers).

blue moon is good, but i def. steer clear of their seasonal beers.

    where can we find that?

Boston area, usually seen mid November through February. Harpoon is a Boston brewery.

I was in DC last year and they had a VERY nice place called Brickskellar, one of those places that had about 500 beers on hand, they carried it ... so, possible to find on the east coast other than New England.

hmmm. the odds of one of those ending up in my hands are slim.
  • I've been close to buying some fall seasonals, I'm just not feeling them yet...give a few more weeks and let the leaves start turning.

Agreed....I would consider drinking a Miller Lite before I consumed a Blue Moon pumpkin ale...again.

  • Ya'll know that Blue Moon is a Coors product don't you?

It is nothing but marketing. Blue Moon is not a quality beer.
Whats got the whole world faking?
  • I had a boddington ale tonight. One of the stranges beers I've ever had. Almost without taste. Took several drinks to make sure I was even tasting it right. Then passed it to my fiance and she agreed. Very, very mild. Smooth, but I like more taste than that.

P.S. - Oh and I tried a St. Andrew's Porter yesterday. Very soy sauce tasting. More than a Steam Anchor porter. Not a favorite.

Pumpkin Ale reminds me of the Lewis Black candy corn rant because every fall I see it in the store and think, "It's fall, this will be nice" and every year I wind up spitting it out!

I want some pumpkin fudge right now. :o
  • Pumpkin ale rocks
  • Pumpkin ale rocks

Yes it really does. My favorite bottled is the one from the Shipyard, followed by Dogfish Head Pumpkin Ale (or whatever its called).
For strictly local brews though I have to go with the Pumpkin Ale at Boston Beer Works. By far my favorite.

I love some of the pumpkin ale's. The only problem is I forget from year to year which ones I like so I have to go through the process of elimination.

AND, I'm not sure what the Lewis Black candy corn rant is, but I like candy corn too. mmmmmmmm pumpkin ale and candy corn......

My husband and I have gotten into the hobby of making our own beer. It comes out delicious!

This time it was my turn to pick out a type of beer to make... I'm in love with pumpkin ale, so of course my choice naturally was that.

It's KILLING me waiting for the first taste of our finished product... Oh so good!

Is the dogfish head pumpkin ale really hoppy like the rest of their beers? We went on a roadtrip to Delaware in June specifically to go to that brewery and they didn't have any Pumpkin Ale leftover from the last season so I didn't get to try it. I can only imagine it is, but I'm kinda hoping it isn't! :)

I love pumpkin ales, but I don't love hoppy beers.

On a totally separate note, but still Pumpkin related, Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks. :)

Like others have said, Blue Moon's seasonal anything is crap.

My current favorite "semi"-seasonal beers are Sierra Nevada's Anniversary Ale and a handful of the new Octoberfest beers that have just come out.

I'm with you on the Boston Beer Works Pumpkin Ale....definitely my fave as well. Never tried the Dogfish but have had the Shipyard...tasty as well. But....I'm a sucker for beers on tap.

    Mine too!
It's has similar flavor to the pale, with a smoother texture and sweeter aftertaste. A little less hoppy, more malty but just pretty much perfect.

    Amazing brew! :)
  • Mothership Wit by New Belgium - very good wheat beer, unfiltered and not over whelming

Sam Adams Hefiweizen - BUTTERY, wow that is the most buttery beer I've ever had, not for me.

Adding: wheat ales sure do supply a buzz.
