watching tonights islanders game and with about 6 minutes to go he purposely steps on ruutu's ankle with his skate while ruutu is face down on the ice. should see 10 games, but bet the league gives him no more than 3.

    ouch man, what happened with Ruutu ? Is the Ruutu with the Pens ? Did he get up ?

    Nah, Simon is a repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat-repeat offender. He got 25 games for the stick-swinging incident towards the end of the last year. If this is as serious as it could be, he'll get 30. The NHL is handing out harsher sentence, because they have a leaderless follower as a commish, and hence.............

    totally should have been a lifetime ban.

    if you are a casual hockey fan, tonights incident wouldn't look too bad... but if you know the sport and actually play the game, you know how dangerous of a situation that was. simon could have severed all of the tendons in ruutu's ankle!

    he got 5 minutes and a game misconduct for an intent to injure, which calls for immediate review from the league. after being such a repeat offender, i really hope the league sends a message, but we all know they won't.

    Funny thing is, my little brother plays rec hockey with his son. I've never met him, but the rest of the family is really nice. On the ice, I think the guy is an asshole.

    I was never able to get over him crying about the NHL wanting him to cut his hair that he had to keep long by a cultural tradition.......then he in turn used some pretty racist language toward a black player (I can't remember who, was it Mike Grier?) on the ice.


    Then he cut his hair anyway

    Chris Simon is an idiot. Am I the only one who remembers last years stick swinging incident!?! He has absolutely no regard for anyone elses safety. He's shown the league and the whole world he hasn't learned anything. Kick him out of the damn league, Simon is a hazard to every other player on the ice.
    Which came first,
    the bad idea or me befallen by it?
