picked it up yesterday and couldn't put it down for 4 hours last night. awesome new levels (they even have old SNES and N64 levels), and the wheel works great. the online play kicks ass too.

if you have a wii, this is a must have! so much f'ing fun.

So I JUST discovered and bought a WII this past week. Just received MK yesterday and cant wait to get home to try it. I have rented Tiger 08 just to try it out and love it as well.

Couple questions for the WII folks....

Madden 08....How can this game possibly work with WII? Or is it just like XB and PS3? I am guessing I will need the "old" kind of controller for this? Or will it work with the remote and nunchuck? Cant see it being an interactive game....

Also, can you suggest any other games that would be fun for a group of people? Thinking of maybe inviting some friends over for a WII night and am looking for some fun games for all....Prob NOT sports, as I am the only sports fan in the group. Dont know much about Nintendo in general, have never had N64 or NES, so I am new to it all.

Anyhow, any help would be much appreciated...Thanks

madden uses the remote and nunchuck. You use the nunchuck and analog to run, and then you can throw your arms out to do stiff arms while running or jukes depending on your motion sequences, and you use the remote to pass. It takes a little while to get used to, but it's fun.

And yes, Mario Kart is a blast. The only person that actually plays with me is moving 6 hours away on Saturday. But at least we got this week in with it. We're playing more tonight and probably tomorrow night before she goes. She's coming back to visit in two weeks though already, and she's already shit talking beating me during that weekend haha. My nephews gotta get over and play it, I'm desperate to play people lol. But they're busy with little league right now. Argh, I need friends that like the Wii dammit.

I was really surprised at how easy and smooth that little wheel works. I think it's great and the game itself is A LOT of fun.

we tried out a bunch of games but my friends have had the most fun playing wii sports, the one that comes with it (tennis, boxing, bowling, etc.). boxing was especially funny to watch. :)

I really haven't played too much on the Wii, I've been happy with playing Mario Kart, Wii Sports, and Super Mario Galaxy. I like playing multiplayer games on the Wii, so my nephew and I usually just play a lot of Wii Sports.

Mario Galaxy is actually a ton of fun as a single player though.

My buddies that own a video game store have really raved about Super Smash Brothers, Metroid, Zelda, No More Heroes, and Resident Evil 4 (if you didn't play it on an older platform.) I haven't had much time to play games recently, so I'm not sure first hand, but it seems if you stick with a first party nintendo game, you'll definitely get your money's worth. My nephew also loved the Lego Star Wars game. That was quite a bit of fun playing co-op with that. However it gets a little repetitive after a while.

oh i just remembered that my dad has this at my house (yes my dad) so i can play MK all summer long after i pick it up.

its so weird because i have an Xbox 360 up at school but when i come home i can get games for Wii since my dad has it or just play his.

the only game i bought myself so far is Super Mario Galaxy since he wouldnt want that (its awesome btw). he had all the other stuff i wanted- like Madden (good), Tiger Woods (okay but frustrating), and The Bigs (great).

Fun games on Wii for a group?

    Madden
    Wii Sports
    Super Smash Brothers Brawl
    Those Rayman Raving Rabbids games
    Mario Kart Wii

I've never tried Carnival Games but that looks like a fun party game.

Let me know how Carnival Games is. My kids have been wanting to try that one.

Also Mario Party. Any game with mini-games is good for groups.

My nieces are 12 and 8 and they love it. Hell, they are better than any of the adults at most of the games as well! :D

i'm gonna pick up mario kart either this week or next week. sweet thing is we already have one of those steering wheels, so when i buy the game, we'll end up with 2 :)

after playing more mario kart last night... it is def. much easier to use the normal controls than the wheel.

when i first starting playing, i used the wheel and thought it was great (which it is). but then i wanted to try the normal Wii controllers, and it is much easier, and handles better. starting winning alot more races!
  • for group games, i enjoy playing Mario Party and Smarty Pants (its the only group games I've played)

I'm hoping that they come out with Scene It for Wii, I played it on the 360 and it was tons of fun!!
