So you have 100% trust in the government?
Lemme know if they ask you to vote when they want a raise.
no I don't. but that's not the point. it's still the way it is whether you or I like how it comes out in the end or not. government raises are part of the services we're paying for too, regardless of whether we agree with them. if we don't like people giving themselves raises, then we shouldn't have voted for those people or should have run ourselves or something or we can change it next time. I don't like it anymore than you, but that's not the point. plus the "government" is huge. you're acting like bush and cheney are the entire federal government.

I'm not American.
I might be aware of the size of the government.
see a moving train. there's a thread about this there.
I haven't bought gas in months, I'm glad the prices are high. my hope is that at some tipping point price the price elasticity of gasoline demand will change and people will reevaluate the choices they made in their lifestyles that made them so dependent on it.
well said and i could not agree more....................also, sweet screen name.
live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.
the high demand for large houses, big box stores, fancy cars, seclusion, etc that have lead to the development of the autocentric suburban design that the majority of americans live in.
good insight......cheap gas lead to a population expansion into rural areas, hopefully expensive gas will lead to a population retreat.
oh yeah..........sweet screen name.

The other day I was like...hmmmm...I need some gas (last wednesday, actually) it's 3.39 a gallon. OK
Forgot to buy.
Next morning... going to gym...I though..."Oh. Stop for gas..." low and behold it was 3.69.
Decided I'd see if it was cheaper in the next town where i was going. Forgot to get it.
Went out a few hours later...and it was 3.79! All within less than 24 hours!
Glad I buy gas so infrequently!!!!
oh yeah..........sweet screen name.
haha well I'm glad I can at least use my graduate degree to give insight on a pearl jam message board...lord knows I have nothing else to do with it!
