  • Leave on Sunday on Royal Caribbean - if it wasn't a group thing I might choose someone else they are so so.

I have heard very good things about Oceania Cruises and plan to check them out soon.

I've gone. Twice actually. Once on Royal Caribbean and once on Carnival (new ship). Honestly they were the best vacations I've ever taken. I'm very type-A and won't relax unless I'm forced to, which you pretty much are on a cruise.
Both had their ups and downs. With RC the ship was better and had more to do- rock wall, wave pool, skating rink, all that. With Carnival the ports were better- well, except Cozumel which if you go, stay on the ship while it's in port its better than dealing with the million other cruise passengers that are there.
Get a balcony stateroom if you can afford it. If not, at a minimum make sure you get a window. Otherwise it's like being stuck in a hole, your room is so dark & claustorphobic (sp). I get the balcony because it's great to sleep with the door open & hear the ocean.

Some people hate them, but I love cruises. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

We really enjoyed the two we went on although we liked the Carnival Cruise much better. The ship was in better condition and the formal dining was incredible.

  • went RC two years ago, it was awesome. my parents loved it so much they went again this summer. the ship was amazing, food was great and the staff treated everyone like royalty.

i had a blast, but once in my lifetime was enough for me....i know people that go every year, and it seems like my folks might turn do that as well....its just so stress-free. no airport transfers, no flight delays, no rental cars...

Couldn't do it. How am I supposed to run off screaming into the woods when I get sick of all the people?

  • I've thought about it, but then the thought of having to pay for all my drinks makes the vacation WAY to expensive. I'm all-inclusive all the way.
