REM in Philly 6/18...

anyone else going? Just got my tickets through their fan club presale (not great seats and the online ticketing blew) Lets hope that we'll have a possible EV sighting
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
ride" ! Unknown

    Yep, I should be going. And I was thinking the same thing about a possible EV sighting. It's the only day when both can be in the same town while both bands are on tour.

    we need a PJ tailgate at the REM show...

    I was at the VFC finale and was side stage when I spotted Ed going up to join on Begin to Begin. Awesome.

    Modest Mouse is opening for REM. I want to see them just to see Johnny Marr again but that'd be 3 shows in 3 nights.....not sure I can afford that.

    I have to think about this one, I'm giong on vacation right after the PJ shows (actually had to change my vacation because of the PJ shows) so I don't know that I want to do three shows in a row then go on the road myself :D

    I've always wanted to see them though and it's been ages since I've been to the Mann

    I'm definitely going to check out REM. Thanks for the heads up. TM says tix are onsale Saturday 4/5 at 10.

    thanks, was just going to ask when the tm sale, Saturday is perfect too.

    I joined the REM fan club too late to qualify for presales.
    can't do the London show in August, and anyway I don't do stadiums.

    but 2 PJ, 1 REM, 2 PJ.. 5 days in a row of gigs.. we're mad! :D (note to oneself: DO remember to pack the earplugs)

    The National is also on the bill... very psyched to see them.

    I did exceptionally well in the fanclub presale this morning, scored front row pit! Must have been all that practice last week for tenclub tix....

    Had planned to see R.E.M. in both Philly & MSG however, but PJ's decision to play Camden changed my plans....... ;-)

    not sure WHAT I did wrong. I was on the site the minute the presale started, and needed 4 tix..and the best I could do was in the back section. kept getting the message that no tix available for that quantity. wtf?? oh well, at least I'm in the venue for the show.

    I agree, the National are going to be great.

    ps the last time I was at the Mann was in 1978 to see Jackson Browne.

    when you're going for 4 tix, it's more difficult; i've found it's far better to go for two & two if you want to be close. i too was in immediately and got a pair in the center pit section.

    i had two computers going, actually pulled the pair in row 1 on my mac and another pair in row 3 center pit on my pc that i stupidly let go! i could have given them to a friend of mine who ended up with 7th row msg and 13th row jones beach. but i've spent a hell of a lot of money on tickets lately... 3 (hopefully 4 ) pj shows after this r.e.m. gig

    can't wait for the national, and i'm a casual fan of modest mouse as well... should be a fine show. i was at the mann last spring, my first ever show there and i had 2nd row pit for that gig :-)

    oh and btw - there's another online fan presale tomorrow (for members subbed to their mailing list) you can always try to upgrade and sell your others....

    It would be great to go... I think we will go if the 2nd pj show in camden falls through. Be great though huge fan of rem.

    got tickets to see them at the hollywood bowl this morning. $125 per ticket! pretty close up, but damn, that's expensive.

    oh well, they are great live, so i'll suck it up.
