funny, i am just really not that interested in youtube. i NEVEr go there on my own looking/browsing, only time i ever look at youtube is if someone sends me a link.

I was just talking to a friend about this yesterday...
He uses a couple of forums, I use this one and a couple others...
We were talking about how you can find forums with regular users that can have intelligent or fun discussions...but sites like youtube, and other unmoderated forums make a guy wonder how sheltered or unique a forum like the pit is...and makes me appreciate the job Kat does keeping things civil.
cause fuck me, if youtube comments are a societal mirror, we're hooped.

Atleast now they give you the option to hide the comments, although I say take it a step farther and just disable the ability to comment on videos altogether. It's a fucking mess.

first time i've heard/read that. obviously 'get' it in it's context, and i like it. i also guess i do not spend enough time on youtube, i've never even bothered rading any comments...i just look at the vids, if that, and move on.


but hell yea, i do find unmoderated forums are clusterfucks of BS and horrid. or sure....hooped.

...is the kind of reasoned comment your post would attract on Youtube, which is the reason I never use it - except to watch Thomas The Tank Engine with my son, which has surprisingly few personal slurs on it.

Agreed 100%, it should be moderated, because some of the stuff on there is libleous.

really? Been common in these parts since the hilariously graphic term 'chilli hoop' got its legs back in the early 90's.

I usually watch music videos on youtube, and I usually don't read the comments either. But sometimes I do, for instance, to check if someone knows the title of the song... I cannot believe the racist shit I read.

I don't know... If a saw a group of people outside with signs that said: "Death to all N******", "Kill all gays", "Bomb the US" it would bother me. Actually, can you even say this in your free country? Can I go and stand in front of the White House with a sign "kill all Americans?"
