Fantasy Advice: Ryan Grant

Is it time to call him a bust or do you hang on and wait for him to show last year's form?

I'm asking because I received a trade offer of Thomas Jones for Grant, and while I'm not a huge fan of Thomas Jones this isn't a terrible offer.

Depends on the rest of your roster...If you can hang onto him, I would. He's still a starting RB who gets most of the workload for GB. If Rodgers is out, they will depend on Grant even more heavily. If Rodgers plays, they will need to commit more to the run with his ailing shoulder. I'm actually trying to buy low on Grant right now with the thinking that he will turn it around.

There's a reason he was the Giants #4 running back. Once they got rid of him he had like two good games last year and everyone jumped on the bandwagon way too early.

2 good games is an understatement. He ran for 956 yards and 10 tds in 8 games. That's some production.

I think Grant has had a hamstring injury, so that may be why his numbers are down some. I think Thomas Jones is going to have a good year. Both are starters, it really depends on who they play over the next few weeks and what your bench looks like.

He rushed for over 100 yards five times last year and scored at least one TD in each of his last six games. He's been injured so I definitely think it's early to label him a bust. Once he's 100% healty I expect him to return to form.

Man, he definitely doesn't look like the same back he was last year and if he keeps fumbling he'll be on the bench anyway. At this point what are you really gonna get for him? I say ride it out and hope he gets his shit together, Thomas Jones isn't exactly tearing it up either.

I have him too and have been getting offers like that or worse. Just look at it this way, the only way for him to go is up. He still looks like he is a good runningback......he just needs to start finding the holes. I really need him to start getting points for me because I am 0-4 right now.

I think you package him with someone else and float him out there for trade. I think you're getting the same player if you make the Jones trade.

I have Grant as well and have received an offer of Jonathon Stewart for him. Stewart seems to have a bad toe but has far outscored Grant so far. Grant is my #4 back, behind Frank Gore, Matt Forte and injured Willie Parker. I may hold out one more week as Grant is supposed to be finally 100%.

Switch the "8" and the "10". That makes a huge difference. I take back 2 good games, I should have said 2 "great" games. He's a normal back, nothing special.

I'd probably take that trade if I were you. Stewart has more upside than Grant does. If Rodgers is hurt for any period of time, Grant's value goes down. Defenses will stuff 8 in the box and make Flynn throw the ball. Additionally, the Packers o-line is anything but stellar this season. The downside with Stewart is that he's in a commitee situation in Carolina.

Anybody think Brandon Jackson is going to get just as many carries as Grant? I think so.

This weekend is huge. If Grant still sucks after facing a weak defense then I think Jackson will get more carries because he has looked pretty good.

  • it depends on what you mean when you say give up on. I would certainly not release him. If you get the right trade, then by all means, trade him. But not for a bag of fantasy footballs, it has to be a decent deal. But I have to admit, I may not know what the hell I'm talking about. I took Steven jackson 4th overall, and bid highly for him in auction. And he ain't looking that great right now. At least not 4th overall great

With Linehan gone, Jackson is gonna flourish.
