using the red scoop (small) ... not the green (med) or black (huge) scoop ... 3 scoops vanilla, 2 scoops chocolate ice cream .... toppings of peanut butter, fudge (don't think there was marshmellow) ... whiped cream, reeses pieces and a cherry. I think.

i can make a jim dandy with my eyes closed (do they still have those?)

I worked at Friendly's for about 4 years. From my Sophomore year in H.S. through my first year or two at UMass. Worked at the now defunct one in Reading, Ma, my home town, then to the one in Hadley (I think?)

I think the Reeses Peanut Butter Cup was made without marshmallow, and Reeses Pieces one was with. I know I screwed that one up a few times, so I could be mistaken.

Was a lot of money back in H.S. working there. Got myself to Fenway Park at least once a series for about three years in a row and took an expensive ski trip every year as well. Lake Tahoe, Whistler/Blackcomb, B.C. and then Switzerland as a Senior.

    Good Times!
  • Thanks for all the welcoming! Nice to see that I am in the company of lots of people with good taste in music. Plus now that I am out of the Southeast I will get to see my favorite band play live!

Whats with the lack of beer in stores here?
I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too.

    just not in stores....;)

is it only in liquor stores and gas stations? is that a statewide thing? seems like some silly blue law thing, which I always assumed was mostly a bible belt problem. it surprised me that I couldnt grab a six pack in the local Big Y here.

The Big Y in Northampton sells beer etc. Check out the Liquor 44 on Rt 9 for a good price on beer. I think food stores can only have 1 of their locations sell alcohol in the state.

I grew up in Enfield, just over the Mass line...but live in the New Haven area now. My sister lives in E. Longmeadow and my nephew lives in Northampton. I love Northampton. Have driven up there many times to see shows at the Calvin, Pearl St and Iron Horse. Just stood in the torrential rain a few weeks ago at Look Park for The Swell Season/Josh Ritter show. Wonderful area... Plus, I love to wander around Faces on Main street and buy stupid things I don't need. :)
  • Northern Berkshires here. I am about 45 minutes north of UMASS. Take a trip up route 116. Yankee Candle for well I will let you figure it out, Pekarskis for sausage and keilbasa, Conway Inn for a beverage or pizza and great locals, Ashfield Lake house for super burgers and views, The Mall in Plainfield :), Plainfield pond for a quick dip or kayaking, The Hilltop for a beverage, then down into the valley for great views of the commonwealths highest peak Mount Greylock. Bring your bike for a trip on the bike path which follows the river to Cheshire Lake or go further north to Mass MOCA for contemp art. It is a great trip in the fall, although a beautiful drive it must be done with PJ of course....MFC all the way!

    Welcome!
