Ham? :D You know Allie love, I don't think I've ever had a baked ham. We just don't do it here. At Christmas we sometimes have cold ham off the bone but never hot. :)

We did roast lamb, roast beef, gravy, roast POTATO ( :D ) pumpkin, carrot, sweet potato, peas, silver beet and beans.

    AND then the trifle! :D

    Anyhoo, hope yours was grand!

I got to do the Easter Egg hunt for the rugrats and run amok with the dogs and the kids, all in all a lovely time. :)

I'm actually really pleased with myself cb, I've managed to get through so far only having succumbed at the roast lunch. I've only had one hot cross bun for the whole of easter AND only ONE small marshmallow easter egg! :)

Anyhoo, enjoy your lunch! Guess we won't be seeing you till after your post lunch nap! :D Hope Normie gets lots of little treats too. :)

    Oooh that sounds like food!
    and that food sounds tasty!!!!!

potatoes! and pumpkins! and sweet potatoes!
    what's a trifle?

I don't celebrate Easter but I had a lovely Sunday! I was just saying in Speedy's thread, I came home from the store and my neighbor was barbecuing! And he gave me some chicken and some ribs. It was so tasty it was nearly a spiritual experience :)

now what's this, no baked ham?! :) Oh man that's tasty stuff. Glazed with like maple syrup or something like that? Umm, ham :)

Well now! :D TRIFLE is food of the gods! ;)
You get a really big serving bowl, we have a really pretty glass one and we line it with sponge cake, jam roll is nice, then sprinkle it with sherry and/or orange juice, add a layer of well drained peaches, a layer of jelly, a layer of custard, a layer of whipped cream and then sprinkle with crushed nuts and maybe some berries. :)

BBQ is good! A nice thing to do at easter although I so rarely get roast these days I was pretty pleased with that! :D

Yeah, baked ham is just not big here love. We don't do it. I don't think I've even had a baked ham. Maybe when I was little Gran might have done it but it's just not the norm is all.

Sounds like you had a nice Easter. :)

I don't remember the last time I had lamb. Probably when my mom made me lamb chops when I was a kid.

It was nice...but my dad couldn't come because he is sick. :( I am worried that the end is near...sorry to be morbid.
It was nice to spend time with my mom trying to figure out how to use my serger sewing machine. lol <---dork, I know.

Yeah, it only makes sense if we have cold lunch! :D

So many of us remember suffering through roast lunch Xmas Day in 90F (32c) heat coz our parents, grandparents are traditionalists! :D
Tis just one of those quirky things.

I guess we do lamb because we grow so many of them here, just like I think you guys grow more pigs. :) Lamb to us is like pork and turkey to you. :)

:( Sorry about your Dad. That's no good at all. An awful situation.

HA! I bought myself an $800 sewing machine about 5 years ago and I still don't know how to use it properly yet! :o I think I've only had it out of the cupboard about 4 times! :o

Oh! I did not know that. I try not to think about how animals are 'grown' to be consumed,
I start thinking about the little lambs :(
I am trying to not eat so much pork but gosh, i do love my bacon :/ I know you can have turkey bacon but it's not the same! Once I smell bacon it's all over.
And when someone offers you free bbq, well I can't turn down free food. Two of my favorite things in life-together! Free food andd bbq!

I really don't usually eat that much beef though
I would say I eat turkey and chicken the most
