Is anybody else pissed that we have to wait to see this here in Victoria?

I've been looking forward to it for ages and I realize the ramifications of it tainting the jury pool, but really, it's a dramatization anyway and it's not like all this gangland war business hasn't played out in the media the last few years anyway.

Thoughts?

don't suppose anybody wants to record it for me? :D

I guess we'll get it here eventually but I find it a little ridiculous given all the media coverage, books and discussion about the case so far that a dramatization is going to make the difference to a fair trial.

It does seem a bit over the top huh. I mean, even without a show like this, how in hell are they gonna guarantee an untainted jury. This stuff has been in the media for years! If they're gonna go all hollywood and restrict all sources of information about this from the jury, why can't it simply be extended to a tv show?

What I don't understand is, why they can't bring forward the jury selection for that case and put them under a media ban? I mean not that it will make much of a difference. And lets face it, people are going to be getting it from other sources anyway.

I watched the premiere on wed night and it was riveting. I couldn't turn my eyes from the tv for 2 hours... I have grown up watching ridiculous shows from australia like water rats etc. etc. but this is step above. I call it the Carlton Soprano's.. It's amazing to realise this is all based on true events. When the vic's finally get to see it watch it's totally worth it.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

    Thanks Zoso. :)

It's had some amazing reviews but I can never tell from them if I'll like something or not. I don't suppose you can recall if it included the attempted whack on Alfonz Gangitano or not? And the two guys that were arrested at Brighton cemetary?

i'm not bothered by it at all. I sit down on the lounge at 7.30 watch choopping block then comes 8.30 and underbelly is on. I don't even have to change the channel.

It is a cool show, I love it. It is quite raunchy, there is more flesh then sex and the city, more violence then a die hard movie, more swearing then some gangster rap and more drugs then a saturday night out with my mates.

    I love it
