I just had the worst nightmare.......

edited February 2008 in All Encompassing Trip
Some guy was hunting me and my brother and my gran with a high powered military style gun and we kept having to move around so he couldn't find us.

I feel like I've been on this hideous trek in my sleep and now I'm awake and exhausted and really nervy.

How come?
NOPE!!!

    :D eejiit! :p I haven't had cheese in weeks! :D

Funny though, at some point we were in Wales. Did you know that in Wales there are blue collar workers that paddle to work on boogy boards? Right up to the front door of their workplace like they were in Venice or something???

new sleep habits? alcohol? a past memory?

Well my sleep has been sporadic of late. I'm going to bed later and sleeping later BUT without pills so not real sure that would cause it.

Haven't had a drink for over a month.

There is NO WAY any of it was past memory! I've never been hunted by a crazed gunman in real life. :o

Yes! I'm very edgy and I don't get it! None of it made any sense.
We were traipsing all around the place. Seemed we were in a fishing village and then a convent, then on a TRAM in downtown Melbourne  , then in some ye olde worlde type place. Just trying to hide from this nutjob. He seemed hell bent on shooting us and I kept having to make sure the blinds were drawn so he couldn't take pot shots at us and the bloody blinds wouldn't close properly. At some point I was begging this guy to sell me a gun and show me how to use it??? None of it is stuff that I could see myself doing or being in, in real life. And the hunted feeling, the heart palpitations, I still got em AND I have no idea WHY????

Simple....it means you wish you were taking your gran (who you obviously wish was still with us) to Venice, Italy, on a tram (I'd advise you to consider alternative methods of transport, as tram from Melbourne to Venice can take hours) and you were gonna put her in a convent, then put your little bro in a childrens home, and have a wild passionate affair with a handsome mobster! :D

The funny thing about dreams is that they are cryptic. Like someone posted earlier, you have to decipher it yourself. Go deep, meditate on it, obviously something is disturbing you. I don't think you are going to find the answers here. Find it in you.

I normally don't read about people's dreams when they post. This one caught my eye and I found it amusing. (sorry, I'm on the outside looking in)I like how Welsh people boogie board to work.:D Break it up into sections. The guy was shooting at you, you asked him to sell you a gun? There is something to that.

    Good luck.

I hate trams, well as a means of getting somewhere, not just for a day trip.

If I was gonna put my bro into a children's home why not just let the gunman have him???

I really don't think it was Venice, James. It was more like olde worlde England.

Doubt Gran would go quietly if I was planning on dumping her in a convent either! :D

Oh no, it was a different guy I asked to sell me the gun. Well begged really.
A hand gun no less! I mean wtf would I do with a bloody gun? And if I had one it would only be for the farm anyway, and I'm really not sure I want one anyway, so a hand gun??? I mean how the hell I thought me with a hand gun was gonna save me from some bloke with a military weapon I'll never know.

The welsh people boogie boarding to work really made me giggle too! And as they paddled past I got this David Attenborough type commentary about how they'd been doing it for centuries and how they never get wet! :D

I guess lots of things are disturbing me lately, which I know, but I think that's what's so confusing about this nightmare. NONE of it had ANYTHING to do with what's going on with me.

But thanks though, I'll keep trying to make some sense of it all. :o

That did sound scary. Sometimes I have nightmares in the middle of the night and wake up frightened but can't remember any of the details of the dream.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

Is there a place on the internet where you can write your dreams? I've been having nightmares every single night for the past two weeks - or maybe longer and can't explain what causes them?
They stay with you all day and telling people about them, helps make the 'feeling' go away.
Maybe we sould start a thread? (I mean a thread entirely about dreams and nightmares).

    Yes, it was.

I have nightmares frequently and the kind that wake you up and have you so rattled you can't go back to sleep.

    They're no fun.

Not remembering details would be good I think. Although maybe not.
