I saw an Antique Roadshow episode that discussed the difference between a fake concert posters and real concert posters from the '60s. With some of PJs poster going for $100s I've wonder if there are fakes out there?

    - if it's too good to be true, it likely is.

    - do your homework.

  • If I ever bought i fake poster, and I couldn't tell it was, I wouldn't want to know. That would upset me so much. :(

    Ignorance is bliss. ;)

  • People think there are more than really are. Those "fakes" aren't fakes...some are just made up posters, not really being pawned as fakes because there is notheing to "fake" off of. Do your research on the shows...it's a bogus show, but the poster is real...it's real for a made up show. some are just glossy reprints.

Very rarely will one see an actual screened fake...they're more rare than the actual posters...lol.

Bottom line, do your research or ask someone that you know has knowledge...don't post it here because a lot of the members here want the posters to be fake so they have something to bitch about...

the imfamous Pearl Jam and Metallica poster is a fake one too

Fakes could be illegal reproductions of the originals, nonscreened, or improperly colored. They are a lot of times blurrier since a photo was a source. They have fake signatures, sometimes are made up and have a logo of a reputable artist on them.

Fucking a-holes out to make quick bucks. Art Lithos and prints actually done by artists are always out there being faked---see Salvador Dali and Picasso. I once read as Dali got older and could not take care of himself, people close to him would run new editions of his art and force him to sign them.

If you want a poster bad and see it for a drop dead price, check into it.
