Taking a vacation to florida on a whim, looking for good stuff to see

So headed down to florida, kind of a last minute vacation. Some friends are renting a condo and have alot of empty bedrooms so what the hell.
So Im looking for some interesting stuff to do when Im down their.
Gonna be staying in orlando, but I'm renting a car and plan to see other areas.
I know about all the touristy stuff like disneyland, seaworld, universal and I may check out a park or two as I've always wanted to go on that jaws ride at universal since I was a kid.
But what I'm looking for is cool things to see and do that aren't the same old boring stuff everyone else does.
I plan on taking a ride down to the keys, maybe hit miami for a night but not entirely sure what I want to do besides get a tan.
