dont think i saw a thread for this movie yet... but i thought id let everyone know that it is HILARIOUS and definitely worth seeing... a few surprising and funny cameos and just overall one of the better executed comedies ive seen in awhile... and im not especially a fan of stiller or black

also... dont waste your time on "mirrors"... i snuck into it after TT and it wasnt even worth the $0 i paid... not that i had high hope... every horror movie in the last 10 years uses the SAME story... i blame the japanese for introducing the creepy mental teen girl with long dark hair as a staple of the horror genre

I have been wanting to see this damn movie since I saw previews in June!

I have seen "The Dark Knight" three times, it's time for a comedy like Tropic Thunder. I might go and see it tomorrow since PHELPS (the badass) has his last swim competition tonight! I can't freakin miss this one!!

don't blame the Japanese, they do it right, the problem is that it's done wrong when copied. That what US film makers get for being unoriginal. You can't have a great movie in the US without it being copied a zillion times poorly.

I was so looking forward to this movie... and was let down hard! I think I laughed once. I agreed with your Step Brothers review a few weeks back.. that movie was fucking funny:D.. but I felt this one didn't come close to the potential it seemed to have from the previews.
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

  • I thought it was funny.

But like most comedies, the first 10 minutes is the best.

    SOMEWHAT SPOILERS FOLLOW...

Booty Sweat, Bust a Nut, The Scorcher, The Fatties, Satan's Alley... I thought I was going to die laughing.

yah i agree the beginning was the best part... and then there were a handful of other great lines and parts... nothing nonstop like superbad and wedding crashers but i still thought it was good... i bet its even funnier to hollywood insiders that can relate to all the shit... maybe my perspective was thrown off from seeing such a shitty movie immediately after... sorry trailer that you didnt like it

I saw it last night like I said I would, laughed a bunch and was a solid comedy all around. Cameo's were funny as hell. Nothing like getting lit up and going to the movies to have a good laugh

You can't really expect to go see a Stiller, or Jack Black movie and think it's going to be a flick with great acting and winning oscars! The guys are goofballs who are very good at making us laugh!! :p

Pineapple Express looks great as well!!

I just didn't think the movie was that funny. and before everyone jumps on me for being uptight, not accepting it for what it is, blah blah blah... let me just say that I'm a big Ben Stiller fan. I've liked and laughed at all his movies, with the exception of Heartbreak Kid. Zoolander and Something about Mary are two of my favorite comedies of all time! Meet the Parents and Along Came Polly are also classics:D Maybe it the was the fact that no one else in the theater laughed.. it always makes the movie more enjoyable when the audience is into it. I guess I'll have to see it again to form my final opinion.

  • Loved this movie. Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey were welcome cameo's (well a little more than cameos I guess) and thought they were HILARIOUS.

    Funny!!

Also loved Pineapple Express and Step Brothers!!

These sucked me in big time.... until the 'Satan's Alley' Clip.... I had a thirst for some 'Booty Sweat' and was about to rush out to get me some and also thought those two crap films were going to be released.

I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was funny but could have been much better. When the Booty Sweat ad started I thought it was for real for about 10 seconds. "I love the pussy dripping down to the floor."
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

i am the exact opposite. ben stiller is the least funny guy out there, and every single one of those movies you listed sucked so hard. but tropic thunder was fucking hilarious in SPITE of ben stiller, thanks mostly to robert downey jr.
    and like that... he's gone.

agreed... i thought "the ben stiller show" was pretty funny... but everything since is pretty meh... and the funny moments in his movies has nothing to do with his delivery (which i feel is the most important part of comedy - gene wilder)

Tom Cruise looked like a dickhead. Literally. .....it was quite fitting actually. I don’t like that man.
Other than that the movie was great!

Heard the ARC has their feathers ruffled over Simple Jack. I have mixed feelings about that.

    Robert D. was da bomb!
