I have scoleosis, just got diagnosed. Pretty awesome. It's when your spine is curved all wrong and not how it's supposed to be, causing bad posture, among mannnny other health issues, as everything is linked to your spinal cord, and pinching of the spinal cord = very bad. Which is what's goin down with me. This has cause my neck to shove itself forward, somehow.. causing my spinal cord to pull my brain stem downwards.. or something... which is why i faint randomly for no reason. The lower back is so bad that the discs are hardly visible in an x-ray, they are almost completely flattened by the vertabrae. I'll need some extreme surgery to put some fake balloon disc things in the columns, along with some nice metal poles to hold my back in place while it heals. pretty awesome. I've had a wicked awesome week and I just thought I'd share!!
Oh, the best part.. I live in Canada. Surgeons suck ASS here.

pardon my canadian health insurance ignorance here, but is there any way you could have the surgery done in the states? columbia presbyterian in nyc is known for their spinal surgery expertise. my dad had surgery there about 15 years ago and he was treated really well."Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the United States, Barack Obama."
"Obama's main opponent in this election on November 4th (was) not John McCain, it (was) ignorance."~Michael Moore

Take care, nicool. I have had a few surgeries ( probably nothing so delicate as yours, mind you) and mine all went well. Can you see about having it down somewhere outside the 'Peg? ( I just have been hearing some nightmares about stuff going on there lately.0

Winnipeg is retarded. We just had a guy cut off another man's head and eat it on a bus. LIke, sweet I feel totally safe here. Glad these morons are gonna go in my spine and make me paralyzed lol.
Going to the states, I would need to pay for the surgery, in Canada, you don't pay for it, it's free. I don't even wanna know how much the surgery would be in the states, but it's not cheap I'm gonna guess. You sheltered me from nothing but the weather...0 -
Sorry to hear about your predicament. But, another way to look at it is: now you at least know that the fainting spells are not a brain problem which would be hella more difficult to treat. My wife is a nurse in the neuro dept here, and she sees this procedure all the time, and she said that the prognosis and outcome for most patients is good. Hang in there!I hold the pain, release me!0

It sucks, also because you are young, but it is the kind of things that the sooner it is discovered, and fixed, the better.
I have a friend who had surgery performed on her spine, when she was in highschool, and is just fine today, and her spine was really bad before that.
I hope all goes well for you during the operation, I am sure you can find at least one respectable surgeon in Canada. Just don´t lose faith, and try to stay positive, or work your way back towards being positive.y la banda de Guille... cuando toca?0 -

I guess I got lucky...try to avoid any that take swigs off a mickey during your consultations...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
