Heading down to Dublin for the first time in a while this weekend for my girlfriends birthday...... staying in a 4* hotel and got her a massage arranged etc. etc.

Anyway, having not been down in a bit, I need pub advice. Where is good? We like just a good pub for some good beer and a bit of a laugh so no clubs but alos no old man pubs with fiddly-dee crap either! I have had enough of that in my life!

Also, any restaurant recommendations while I am here?!

Cheers

I'm not from Ireland but I was just in Dublin in Mar. One restaurant I liked, but it might be a bit over rated (pricewise) was a place called Fire. It is near St. Stephen's Green.

    Check this link. http://www.mansionhouse.ie/fire/location.html

Oh yeah, here is another place I went. It is in the Temple Bar area. Which is obviously a bit touristy. But I went at an off time and the food was good.

Bruxells was the only 'ordinary' pub I saw when I was there, it's in Harry Street (or is it Henry? :p) Anyway, Phil Lynott stands right outside there, so that's all good :D
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

The Bankers! it's on Dame Lane. Kinda hard to find. Just ask around.
Or if you're up Harcourt St way check out the bleeding horse.

I like the Foggy Dew for a few pints of a Sunday afternoon. Its in Temple Bar, beside the Central Bank. Also Whelans is nice, tis on Wexford St.

Restaurant wise, I haven't eaten out properly (as in non pub grub) in the city centre ever... maybe once so I cannae give advice there :o
