This is CRAZY. I wonder if waiters are able to have shaved heads. She does this for a good cause and this happens. So yes they said they might not be pleased but c'mon I have had servers with purple hair before besides if I knew what she had shaved her head for I would likely donate money.

    As for managers telling people to keep hair at a 'reasonable length,' i hate that. Sure, MAYBE if you're in a high position, but places like these?

    I hope she doesn't go back.

    Nathaniels owner and chef Dan Hilliard defended his decision, saying the restaurant has certain standards. He prohibits male staff from wearing earrings and requires employees keep their hair at a reasonable length.

    Besides, he said he's already heard from some customers who agree with him and say they would have been "appalled'' to have been served at Fearnall's table.

    A server has to keep their hair pulled back..or they should at least. I hope she gets offered a better job after this. Stupid people... stupid people. Who would be upset if their server had a shaved head? Seriously??? I mean sure maybe at the Ritz but still..

    She must absolutely make a youtube vid, pass it to a few select blogs, now and call out the restaurant...sit back and wait...

    That is messed up! Bad bad move on the owner's part. Hopefully she a better workplace soon, wouldn't want to work for an a-hole like Hilliard.

    That is crazy. Seems to me that is the type of employee you'd want to have. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she does get a better job offer and that his restaurant does suffer.

    Total bullshit imo. As an ex restaurant mgr I would have been very impressed by her move and honored to have her as an employee. She should hire an attorney and sue.

    what if she actually HAD cancer or some kinda hair loss thing... would they fire her then? At least she can go work for Wandas... and who decides what's 'reasonable length'? They coulda publicised it... put a sign up saying why she did it and asking customers to donate... and made more money for the charity :o there are plenty ways to get around it
