Yeah, definitely not the greatest (but pretty close) my most vivid memory of the first movie is actually the video for Dark Side, they played it on MTV, by John *something* and the Beaver Brown Band, Michael Pere’ lip-synched to the song in the movie.
Good stuff.
The filmmaker just opened a yummy hotdog restaurant near me called Marty D's.
If it ain't 8 inches...it ain't Marty D's!
My dad has a giant wood framed photo from the movie.
Have you been there?.....great Kosher Hotdogs with carmelized onions and saurkraut...the knishes are amazing too!
Yes, I've gone twice. Loved it both times. Once I just got a chili cheese dog. I saw a person before me get one, and I was just drooling at the mouth.
The second time I got the Chicken Italian Sausage. That was fantastic. Both times I went when I was going to the Troubadour. I need to get over to that area more often now.
Next I'll try the Kosher Dogs with carmelized onions and saurkraut. That sounds good right about now since I'm late to lunch!
I live 2 blocks from Marty D's, so its always veru tempting.
Ever go to the Indian restaurant down the street from the Troub?
I have, I believe. I think it's flavor of India? That one?
If so yes I have. It was on a reccomendation from a co-worker. I had the Tandoori Chicken and it was mighty fine eatin. I'm a novice when it comes to Indian food though so I'm not sure what to try.
Tandoori is good, but the chicken tikka masala is better.....chicken chunks in a spicey masala/tomato-based sauce.
All right, thanks for the suggestion. I wrote it down and stuck a note in my wallet to remind me next time I'm over there. Thanks for that.
You are welcome.
The gf and I are going to see X at the HOB Anaheim.....know of any non-touristy eating places near there?
Well I'm a bit biased and they're more of just smaller local places I ate at growing up, so the tourists aren't around. But depending on what you'd want:
Mexican - Casa Gamino over on Brookhurst and Ball Rd. My favorite place to eat growing up as a kid. I always have loved their mexican food. Plus it was easy for me to get as I grew up right across the street.
Italian - Mama Cozza's off of Ball Road. Just East of Brookhurst.
Then there's also Cortina's Italian Deli. It's a walk in with some tables on Orange right near Brookhurst as well.
Those are a few of the local staples here since everything is being bought out for touristy places.
If you want some other flavors as well just let me know.
As soon as I read this thread title, the music and lyrics to "On The Dark Side" started ringing in my head. Great song!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9uP8qqgm-c&feature=related

I love that song and the first movie!!
"What a stupid lamb."
"What a sick, masochistic lion."
He still is!
