    I worked with some guys that kept telling me how serial they were.

    I didn't get it then. And I don't get it now. Must be a damn funny thing, though.

    correct

    Al Gore gave an interview where he meant to say "serious" but got tongue tied and said "serial" instead. that's why he says that throughout the episode.
