    OMG!

    how tragic!
    i LOVED his work!
truly, madly, deeply is one of my most fave films....love the english patient...and his very last film, breaking & entering...perhaps not as good, but still soooo well done. what a loss.

edit - just read the link...i'd forgotten about his work with cold mountain and the talented mr. ripley........:( :( :(
so, so sad....54 is FAR too young to go.
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

well when you are edging ever closer to 40....54 for does indeed seem *too young*....only 14.5 years from where i am now! definitely too early, for anyone....especially if you love living. and i do. :D

ALL his films are superb really. the last probsably the weakest, mostly due to heavy-handedness in the *message*....but still top notch. besides, with actors such as juliette binoche, jude law and robin wright penn, hard to go wrong.

i really love all his work...but truly, madly, deeply is *IT* for me wihtin the confines of his work. beautiful. ahhhhhh....alan rickman and juliet stevenson.

so tragic. for him, for his family and friends....but even for all of us. imagine the films he still had left to make, the ideas? sad.
    Stay with me...

    RIP......

I was just watching something on TV regarding his family's ice cream business. Might have been the cooking channel--cannot recall.
