I seem to have a comp virus/spyware

it only seems to affect google...it makes it look weird when you search, things are italicised instead of bold, and it just redirects you to spam sites when you click on any search results.

any ideas?

    First 2 things I always run when I get some malware installed are:

    Adaware: http://lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php

    Spybot Search and Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

    I agree with the above post, I also use avast for virus protection. It's free and great! http://www.avast.com

    yes, those 2 softwares use to work.
    If it doens't work, buy a Mac :D

    what else would i use google for?? :D

    ive tried adaware and it found loads of infections but crashes before it can do anything about them which is weird!

    downloading search and destroy now

    Restart the computer in safe mode (hit F8 when the computer is booting), and then run these 2 apps.

    Trend micro online scan, and PC tools spyware doctor. Spyware doctor costs but it cleans like no other.

    that is if spybot and aw aware don't find it all...which I've seen happen many times on many different computers at various locations.
