Im moving flats again at the end of the month, but just from one area of the west end of Glasgow to another. I just did it through s1homes, but im not sure what the best English equivelant is. Gumtree is a website that you can place ads saying what you are looking for and where, ie - 1 bedroom flat in st albans, can also add details about yourself for potential landlords to see.

Be careful though, its a good website for advertising and finding things/places but like everything, some people use it to try and con you. I placed an ad when i was first looking and had a few serious replies, but also ones requesting ridiculous payment arrangements, eg 'Yeah, just pay the deposit into western union and scan details of receipt and send them to me' (this before id even viewed the place lol, no chance)
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

Gumtree's the only one i can really think of, but yeah there are a lot of scammers out there. I played along with some of them, asking them specific details about where the flats were etc. Each of them comes up with the same ' i am out of glasgow at the moment so in order to prove that you are serious, put the deposit in western union etc etc) I replied 'why dont you just give me your bank details and ill pay the money straight in to save time?' Conversation ended after that, i ended it by saying that i sincerely hope no-one falls for your scam, and told them how much i hated people that tried to con decent, hard working folk out of their money in such ways.

This is just an obvious one, but even just google stuff like 'accomodation/flats to rent in st albans' sure you've been trying that already, but not sure of any other sites like Gumtree.

you could try loot or easyroommate.com

If you are going for a job could ask the firm to put an e-mail around to see if anyone knows of a room.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
