oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • *sigh* I have this problem too....... I tend to play my birthday #'s... no such luck. Then I move on to the random picks.... still..... NO LUCK!!! What's a girl gotta do to earn some good luck in this life?! :(
"I heard some people up here pointing out the ukelele...it's a mandolin, you uncultured bastards!" EV

Why do people play the lottery? I've heard it called a tax on stupid people and I think I agree.

In New Mexico, proceeds from the lottery are used to fund college scholarships. So the more we, as a state, play the lottery, the smarter we become. :p

im actually incredibly skilled at picking the numbers either side of the one drawn ...

if 30 comes out, ill have either 29 or 31 on my ticket. It all happens in the one line too.

if someone were really clever, they'd check my ticket, then put a couple in with numbers one up or one down - they'd be winners for sure :o

Well, it finances education, sport and culture in general, in this country, whereas the "sensible" taxes finance war.

HUH? That's something I don't understand - how taxes from various sources go into one large pot, are divied up, and then people can claim that a certain part of them went directly to education or whatever. Tax money spent is tax money spent.

I believe the lotto is a separate tax and the funds are allocated there accordingly. When we had had "Sport Action" tickets for betting on Football games, the money only went to High School and College Sports programs. Of course, they got rid of that game so we can have 1 round of the NCAA Men's Hoops Tourney next year.
    NERDS!

At least with the lottery you give it away freely, and if you don't like what lottery councils are spending it on, you don't have to contribute. You have no choice with other taxes, where they go, and you can't say, "I'm not financing the royal family/these wars/second homes and taxi rides for corrupt politicians/paedophiles who should be shot in the back of the head rather than living it up in prison", or they'll throw you in jail with the nonces too.

    Rant over. :D

But I know three people that hae one pretty BIG!

One woman I know split $14 mil with 9 other co-workers

One dude I knew one three million when we were like 22

And when I was a kid my friend's dad won some # hundred thousand.

The only really stupid people are the ones who buy them and don't check them.

    That's why I rarely buy them. :o
