Think I'm on local radio later today. This singer I know 'phoned me with a croaky voice, to say she had a croaky voice. Would I mind playing some songs and doing an interview instead of her? I've never done a radio interview before, well, not since I was a teenager and that wasn't about myself.

Any tips for doing radio - those who have, in any capacity - apart from remembering to communicate with words rather than waving my arms around?

    Go fins! Go Fins!

If you get nervous, just picture everyone naked... or just that woman you fancy (Scarlett)? ...so obviously, I don't know. I just wanted to say well done and good luck really.
  • Cheers! I never get nervous. Perhaps I should. I do get clueless though, and there are times I get my sentences barse ackwards, particularly after I got hit on the head by a 70lb falling rock, but that might add to the entertainment.

If it's all confirmed, and Gorgeous Miss Croaky Voice doesn't get her voice back, then I'll give you a link and you can all laugh at me live on air. It'll be at around 5.15pm my time (11.15am Seattle, 12.15pm New York). The studio's less than five minutes walk away from here, so that's handy. It's just a community radio station, but it's still radio, innit? Pleased to get the gig! :)
  • I'll keep my fingers crossed that she doesn't get better for you. That her voice stays hoarse and she can't speak or sing for weeks. ;)

I don't. I'm going up to London with her for a gig on Sunday. She'd better get that voice back, fast! :o

your face suits radio though Fins.. you'll be fine :)

kidding obviously my hairy hunk  ;)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • That's nothing. I was just speaking to my old mum, who reckons I should get a haircut if I'm going on the radio. Dunno how she worked that one out ...
  • Talk often, and with a bit more intensity than you normally would. That's pretty much it.

Just talk, communicate. You do it beautifully (at least here, in writing)
