Gotta love independent record stores...
where else can you walk into a record store and pick up a copy of Pearl Jam New Orleans 1992? Recorded live 4/20/92 at Tipitina's New Orleans. Great sound, $6. Better than a Big Mac!!!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
ride" ! Unknown

I could have uploaded that show for you. PJ doesn't want you wasting money on those illegal boots.
My house of course. (not a record store, but better than nothing)
I almost bought that Atlanta one when we were last in Vancouver... Price was way too steep. Then in Seattle the other weekend, I didnt buy the 2 official boots (State College and Seattle = 2000) I found for $10 each (used)...what a maroon!
As part of my job, I get to travel around the Northeast (mostly). I make it a point to seek out the local mom & pop/indie record stores along with checking out the local diners/bars/restaraunts, etc. and skipping the chain places. It's sad to see so many indie record stores closing. When I was a kid there seemed to be a record store on every other corner.
I just picked up the new Shawn Smith (Brad) CD, Pearl Jam - Live at Easy St. Records CD (both for $9.99 each) & the Pearl Jam Vs. Ames Bros. Book (for only $35!!!?) at Pure Pop Records in Burlington, VT. Brand new, sealed edition (NOT a used copy). Stuff u can't find at your local retailer. All at a GREAT price. From a super, cool store with super, cool employees that love music as much as you do.
Here is a list of my favorite stores. Please list some of your own. And check out the list at http://www.recordstoreday.com. Thanx. And spin the black circle.
The Sound Garden, Syracuse, NY
Pure Pop Records, Burlington, VT
Off-Center Records, Utica, NY
Newbury Comics, Northest (MA, NH, CT, RI, ME)
Dynamite Records, Northampton, MA
Rhino Records, New Paltz, NY
House of Guitars, Rochester, NY
Record Theatre, Buffalo
Side Projects/Solo Shows: Brad 10/27/02, Eddie Vedder: 8/2/08, 6/8 & 6/9/09, 6/16/11 & 6/18/11.
Good call on these two. Of the record stores I have been to, these are my favs. Spent four years in college in Syracuse, and have yet to find a more truer indie store feel, wider selection, and cheaper prices than at sound garden.
