I really enjoyed this movie. Didnt get much press, odd since it stars 3 pretty big names of the moment Josh Peck, who had a masterful role in Mean Creek, and Ben Kingsley, who needs no introduction, and Olivia Thirlby, who we last saw in Juno.

The movie is set in 1994 in NYC and the soundtrack is filled with Biggie, and Tribe, and other hip hop highlights of the day, oddly Sigur Ros is thrown in their as well.

I identified with the Josh Peck character, and some of the scenes were haunting. His change at the end, really was pretty incredible, I felt like I identified with his change in a way.

I agree with you. This was my favorite movie in 2008. I thought the circumstances with his parents were very similar to my upbringing in NYC.

I really enjoyed this movie too. Saw it when it was in theaters. I could definitely identify w/Josh Peck, and Ben Kingsley reminded me of quite a few people I know.

    Good story and good acting.
