has music/movies/art inspired you to create?

It seems like i am getting to that point. been a music fan I guess you could say since 1991, and am 24 and havent felt this passionate about music ever in my life. not even in the hey dey of grunge.

i attend every show at a local venue, music basically seeps through my pours now. I listen to music all the time. it is my life. If I am not at a concert or listening to a cd, I want to be.

Has music or any movie or book or piece of artwork ever inspired you to rush off to the store and buy paint and a paintbrush and paper, or inspired you to learn guitar, or to write poetry, to write songs, write a book, etc...

Anyone here like Ray lamontagne in that he was stuck in some dead end job, hears Stephen stills on the radio, quits job and picks up guitar and now is a singer songwriter.

I wish I was 24 - I am way older, but I was listening to Crowded House and they have this song "Transit Lounge" and there was something about it - and I just (on Friday) finished writing a play (called "Transit") about two people who meet in an airport bar.

So yes, go for it - what do you have to lose?

i get inspiration from everything around me(mostly music and stuff i read). also from deep within myself. the biggest influence on my writing has been henry rollins. he changed the way i wrote and the attitude with which i did so. i wont listen to black flag or the rollins band, so for me henry is purely a writer. and one funny bastard when hes crapping on about stuff during his spoken word tours.

Thats a really cool story. Seems like most artists have some story like that.
