Its not the thing a commie Marxist like myself usually would do, but in the past for several years I would religiously follow the movie box office results, checking them on Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sunday. And then the final totals on Monday. I have just now started to get back into it.

Lots of websites now have daily box office totals so even when its not the weekend you can check results.

Its always fun to check it for big time movies, Star Wars, LOTR, Pirates etc… I remember checking it for Titanic each week, it was ridiculous, it just kept on making more and more money!

HSX.com or the Hollywood Stock Exchange was also a frequent haunt of mine years ago. Its like a fantasy film league, where you sell, buy and trade stocks not of corporations but of stars and movies. I even won a few posters and other stuff from it.

So am I a rarity here, or are their other followers of a films box office take?

I only check them when a client has a new movie out, since my firm gets a cut of their share of the film's gross/profits.
