My Me Decade

One of the more interesting things about the 1960's, oddly enough was the 1970's, and how people got burned out and tired of protesting by 1969 or so. It was just too much. So you had an entire decade of Me. The Me Decade. Its odd how much my life parralels some 1960's history book. From naive innocent, to educating myself, to activism, to protest, to radicalism, to burnout and now my own Me Decade period.

People in the 1970's turned to soft rock like Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Uncle Neil, James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkel. And they turned to personal/reflective novels.

I read an article about a video of some woman dying in a hospital wating room that "shocked a nation". I realized I hadnt seen the video or heard one word about it. I have created my own world, basically seperate from politics and political goings on.

Whats the modern day reflective/personal music? If artists/musicians, writers and directors were radical in 2003 when the war began, it does seem it has gotten apocalyptic, and almost normal to be resigned to the war.

Whats our version of the Me Decade?

Frankly I could care less about Election 2008. I still am a radical and believe in all that, I dont want to go and protest. I just dont care at this point. I have become the Inside Job character
