I know people dont like Kurt on this board much. And I dont think many people liked the film, but just saw it last night. Haunting movie. Never heard Kurt speak at length like that. The soundtrack, no nirvana songs, Ben Gibbards score was mindblowing. That overture thing encompasses it all. It captures what kurt felt, what I felt, what our generation felt. And this is just the first 3 minutes of the film.

That picture with Frances at the end is haunting. Wow.

I dont know why people dont like Kurt on the board. He was and will remain, a hugely important figure in my life. He transformed my life. His music and ideas are encoded into my DNA.

Give the movie a chance. Check out what Kurt had to say. Just relax and check out the stunning cinematography. Get taken away with the soundtrack.

    I didnt realize people didnt like Kurt here. It always helped when I felt like a loser to relate to him, because I knew thats the way he felt about himself. And he really wasnt.
    Film sounds good though. I havent seen it yet.
    Pirates had democracy too.

    this is next up in my netflix queue and i'm excited to see it.

    if they do a fictional movie on his life, the guy who played max in across the universe should play kurt. the resemblence is eerie.

    ahhh....well if the ryan gosling thing falls through, that guy is a dead ringer. :)

    scarlett johansson as courtney? really? that's going to take some serious acting!!

    yeah, I agree he is a close look-a-like

    Scarlett is the rumor....although anybody that takes that part is going to have to do some very good acting to make it believable....

    That project is a Courtney Love project, so of course she's going to want to spin things a certain way, thus the selection of Scarlett....

    Very beautiful film... In fact, I'd say that it is one of my favorites.

    And you're indeed right about the overture. Very fitting and perfect.

    I've always had a deep love for Kurt Cobain. He's behind a big portion of who I am today. I mean, I'm myself of course... But if I wouldn't have started listening to Nirvana when I was a child, or listened to his words both spoken and sung, who knows where I'd be. He has a lot of brilliant, real things to say, much like all of us... But somehow he just knew how to say them when we sometimes can't.

    When I listen to Kurt Cobain speak in this film, I find myself realizing how much more I have in common with him. I find a great comfort in knowing that someone out there feels the same way about things and visualizes the world in a manner that just makes sense. But at the same time, a great discomfort falls upon me when I realize that this human being does not exist now.

    Give the film a chance. It's amazing. But more importantly, give Nirvana a chance if you have not already.

    my local video store doesnt have it. google video has the video online if you want to check it out. SOmeone else said they are downloading it. I think you tube has it up

    Because you can't say anything negative here about pearl jam. Kurt did and he's been ripped on here ever since. Never mind the fact that he and eddie would probably be pretty chummy if he was still alive.
