Ne1 been to the LL Bean flagship store in Maine?

Open 24hrs a day and has been around since 1917. I was looking for a barn coat and came across their website. ...looks like an interesting place to visit.

    It's a cool place. I have been there a couple of times. The area is mobbed with outlet stores now, but at least they sort of blend into the landscape.
    The last time I was there was 1 day after x-mas in 2003. We had gotten gift cert. from my parents and loaded up the 7 week old baby and drove up there in a blizzard. We went to the store at some odd hour. lol It was really nice. If you camp, it is the coolest place to check out equipment. All of the tents are set up, lots of gear.
    The store is huge. The have a little cafe and a huge book selection. Pots, pans, stoneware, towels, etc. It is like an upscale general store, kind of.
    And if you want anything monogrammed, they do it onsite, while you shop. Very cute.
    Their stuff is great quality for the price.

    It's totally awesome. All sorts of live demonstrations of gear. There is even an actual trout pond in the store.

    There's a store here in Smalbany. Opened a couple of years ago. Not bad.

    It's been a few years since I've been to the Maine store...very cool. A good place to kill a few hours, and the folks there are very helpful.
