I'm not sure exactly for how long it had been there, but just a couple of days ago I noticed that a bird had set up a nest in the overhang above my front porch.
And ever since then I rarely stepped outside to see the bird not there. But, just this morning I noticed not one but two piles of feathers in my front yard, which can only mean that a stray cat has been racking up kills in the area.
But, the bird was still there this morning. When I got back this evening, the bird was not there. Not unusual. So, I waited a few hours and it's still not there.
I assumed the worst, so I grabbed a broom and worked the nest out of its knoock and dumped its contents into a shoe box. Two tiny little eggs were now in my possession. They were both cold, and one had suffered a slight dent from transfer process.
I have them set up in the shoe box with some newspaper shreddings.
What am I supposed to do when and if those things hatch?

If you have a wildlife shelter in the area (here we have PAWS), I suggest you take the egg(s) there. If it/they ever did hatch, they would know how to take care of them. Good luck!Check out my Sudsy Chick Etsy Store for all natural homemade bath products!0

Silly....they won't hatch once they have gotten cold and are dented.
