    yes and yes..

I use comcast. Because RCN isn't available at my location. HOWEVER, if you have a choice go with RCN they are MUCH MUCH MUCH better then crap ass comcast! If you call, they will tell you if your address qualifies!

I live in Bucktown, which is right next to Lincoln Park

But it varies from street to street in the city, what carrier is where. I used to have RCN, and they were so much easier to deal with, and cheaper!

Yeah, I tried RCN...they aren't available in my area.

But, hey, do you have the Chicago Comcast phone number?

All you have to do is call 1-800-COMCAST and they will get you speaking to the right department. I don't know the chicago branch off hand, but when I need to call, I just called that number and eventually get to the right place with the prompts. Aside from RCN, and comcast, I think those are the only cable tv/internet providers.

See, I need a direct line to the Chicago office. I don't have a comcast account and everytime you call that, it asks you for your phone number for the account. I have a problem because I don't have a landline, only a cell phone, which does not have a Chicago area code. I've tried three times and I never get the Chicago office. Then I tried googling it but none of the numbers work.

Oh, and when I was setting up the service, I just called the number... I didn't have a phone number by them either at the time, since I know have their phone! I just spoke to someone who transfered to me to Chicago..
  • Have you tried their website? http://www.comcast.net

There should be a link for new customers somewhere on that site.
