    i was always under the impression that TX was strictly football...

    just seems like the places that are really passionate about bball (chicago, NY, etc) are the ones that deserve to be really good

    i dont know tho... thats why i ask

    I can't speak for Dallas or Houston, but we *love* Bball in San Antonio. It is the only major franchise for a few hundred miles, so there is a huge interest in the Spurs. Also, they have been a beloved part of the city for a long time, going back to the ABA days, so the city is full of diehard fans.
