fookin bullshet going on in border towns

So my wife picks up the phone and someone is asking for me. She says who and they say federal express. So I grab the phone and ask what they want and right away the person starts saying we know who you are, mentions my name and address and we have pics of you and your family. Says they are Zetas ( ex military thugs turned hired cartel assasins / enforcers). So knowing that they will ask me for a randsom to keep my family safe I hang up.

Dude calls back even more pissed off saying if I hang up I will come up like a lot of people have dead / decapitated etc. So I hang up again. This type of shit has been going on for a while now since two big drug cartels started fighting this year. Over 1300 executions so far this year alone in Juarez, Mexico. Most because people are into the drug trade one way or another.

But we have started to see extortions , kidnappings etc and a lot of people are receiving phone calls like I have. I am an Ops manager and seems these fuckers are stalking people as we get of work. So I am really worried now. Fookers stoped calling after I wouldn't answer phone for like 3 days straight but now I am getting all paranoid. FOOOK. Cops said they have been getting calls from a lot of people saying same thing. They stated these guys scare people and get cash put into ghost bank accounts. whatever that fuckin means. And that if people don't fall for it they move on to next victim at random. But I am still worried.

Congrats! I think you just posted the first actual problem I have seen on here in a long time and you still didn't whine about it.

So, what's your strategy here? I think my front yard would be rigged with claymores.

:eek: wow! I'd imagine that too many people might fall for this... so they won't bother with those who don't. I hope!

yeah ... i heard security detail is like the biggest growing industry ... it seems to be that there is no control anymore ... the police are all corrupt and so are the politicians ...

Very sad for you and your family. I sure hope you stay safe! I've heard it's pretty bad now from friends that live in San Diego. They used to visit frequently and now won't even cross the border. Even friends from Mexico won't go across. :(

that's not an option. It is a federal crime to own guns in Mexico. Get this if someone was to break into my home and threaten my family if I was to shoot and worse kill I would get a direct pass to jail no bond until trial which can take a very long time.

Our laws are fucked up like that. No option really but to pack up and move or hope nothing happens.

And jails down here are no picnic. Just hoping it was a random call and they really don't have pics of my family. Anyone can get my nake and address from phone book.

Yeah, one jail in Mexico was spotlighted on a Nat Geo Channel...Called the worst prison in the world...It's run by the prisoners and the guards just hang out on the outside making sure no one gets out. Yeah, I would say move to the States.

I am thinking about just moving , hope my company can transfer me for a while. Don't want to sell my house maybe rent for a while. At least until this was is over.

I have been to Saltillo (just outside of Monterrey) several times this year. My company owns a factory there.

Saltillo is nice enough, up in the mountains, but I hate Monterrey and the highways that connect it to Saltillo.

I get very nervous every time I go down there because I can't help but read the stories. Very fucked up situation in Mexico these days. They are basically fighting a civil war vs. the drug cartels.

That's some scary shit.. be careful! I just read about the Zetas not too long ago and they seem like they are very well trained and funded. Not to mention.. extremely dangerous!!

I don't know what kind of advice to give you, but I do think you are better off not answering your phone... hanging up on them and pissing them off can't be good. The drug cartel war down there is getting completely out of control, and you are living in one of, if not the worst, city as far as violence and kidnappings.

I'd be careful talking to the cops too... you never know who could be a paid informant for the Zetas.
