  • The book was amazing... so moving. I would like to see the movie as well.
That book made me cry... well almost :o
  • I read the book.... and cried.

I saw the movie.... and cried.

I do not shed tears easily and if a BOOK can make me cry, it is a very moving book, in my opinion.

I absolutely absolutely loved the book, so so so amazing. one of the best books I've read in AGES (a big thank you to the person who gave it to me!).

had some mixed feelings before watching the movie.. wasn't really sure whether I should watch it or not.

and yeah, well.. it wasn't a bad movie. :o but I liked the book MUCH MUCH more.

  • I'm just finishing the book now and I LOVE it. I attended a workshop on shame and guilt and the presenter recommended the book - very fitting.

I have read the book a couple of times and it will forever be one of my favorite books.
I thought they did an excellent job with the movie. It is an epic book...very difficult to cover everything...kinda like Charlie Wilson's war...impossible to cover everything.
I would definitely watch it again.
If anyone has not read his second book, you should. You can really sense the maturity in his writing voice. Incredible.

Same here. I thought at times the Kite Runner was a little predictable. I just tore threw ATSS when I got it.

    Agreed.
    :)
It was one of the books where I was so sad for it to end...I would drag it out.
I should probably re-read it. I am always so quick to bring books to the library to share with others. Should have kept these. :(
    Oh well.

Actually The Kite Runner was part of a library program around here a couple summers ago called One Valley, One Book. It was promoted in the libraries, we had lots of reading discussions, book groups. I can't tell you how many people I rec'd it to. Even in the line at the market.
I think it is a must read. Especially to teach tolerance. I am hoping it becomes like Of Mice and Men, Tale of Two Cities, Catcher in the Rye...I want it to become a part of our education.

Far and away two of the best books I have ever read. I am about to re-read "The Kite Runner" and it's only been 3 months since I read it the first time! Does anyone know if he has another one coming out or in the works?
